In todays culture it is much more acceptable to admit you are gay, than to admit you are a CHRIST follower. His return is eminent, the world shall get darker, yet HIS bride shall become brighter, without spot or blemish. We will be like HIM, 1st John says walk as JESUS walked. JESUS was the most normal christian, if you are not like HIM you are wierd.
The words of Diana ross have been playing through my head like a scratched record. "I'm coming out, I want the world to know, I want to let it show!" How very similar to the words of our MASTER, "you are the light of the world, a city on a hill, do not cover your lamp if it is shining."
The problem is, many "christians" who do not have CHRIST in them, give us a bad name. If you have lost your saltiness, if you have no flame, you need to go back in your closet and throw away the key. Tarry for the promise, that you will be clothed with power from on high, made into new creations, with fire shut up in your bones. In todays age you would be foolish to come out of the closet if you are not wholly consumed by the fire of GOD.
Exodus says our GOD is a jealous GOD, HE is a all consuming fire. HE wants to consume all of you. Only then should you step out of the closet and let the world know. You can't show what you don't have.
Remember the story of the 10 virgins, 5 were stupid and 5 were wise. The wise ones had oil to keep there lamps burning. Beloved it says that JESUS often withdrew and spent all night with his FATHER. This was his custom, this was his hobby, this was his delight, and this was his life to be filled with the pleasures of heaven and to know the FATHER.
If you are steping out of the closet with a snuffed out lamp, or a burned out wick, turn around! Isaiah says he will not snuff you out. HE is gracious, with steadfast mercy and never ending love, HE wants to possess you!!! Paul said I am possessed by the love of CHRIST. CHRIST in you the hope of glory, HIS mighty power that raised CHRIST from the dead, alive and at work in you!
Give us grace DADDY to be a bold and powerful witness. Give us courage to turn our cities upside down. Give us oil for our lamps as we are in our closet, and may your hand be upon us as we leave the closet and obey.
